Don’t forget to come to our meeting tonight. It’s a great opportunity for new parents to the school and they can hear what’s planned for the coming term and its also a good opportunity to meet other parents.
Thanks to Pepsi we have now got 5 laptops for the school. Pepsi have a scheme where they upgrade their old laptops and donate them to a local school. A huge thank you to Brian Fenton who is an employee of Pepsi and managed to secure these for us. The laps tops have Microsoft office, Word, Excel and Powerpoint and they were badly needed, thanks again Brian and Pepsi!
We will be holding a meeting regarding the school sports on this Wednesday coming, 26th April, at 8.30 p.m. It would be great if the parents/guardians of the school could attend so that we can go through what is required on the night. Hope you can make it, it will only take 1 hour. Thanks!
There was a surprise visitor to the school before Easter!. Julia Petrova O’Sullivan and her two children Ted and Emila came to visit the school to talk about Russia. Julia is Luke and Matthews Aunt and was home on holidays with their Uncle Niall and their 4 children. They are currently living in Abu Dhabi but Julia is Russian and gave a talk on the country to the Senior Classes. She explained how big the country was and also talked about the rivers, mountains, the local animals, food, etc. Who will turn up next we wonder!!!
The Senior Class rooms completed a project on the Crossbarry Ambush site as part of the annual Commemoration in April and were rewarded with their efforts with a voucher for the West Cork Secret Garden. It went on display at the Commemoration and there were numerous comments on how good the information board was. It was colourful with lots of pictures done by the children and plenty of historical information. Thanks to Mr. O’Leary for giving lots of his time to this project and it was a great opportunity for the children to learn about their local history. A picture even made it the County News in the Examiner!!
Emily, Ally and Caoimhe make it to the paper! Here they are seen at the Cork Pops Orchestra at the Cork City Hall recently. It’s a annual trip for the school and one which they all enjoy.
