Don’t forget to drop any unwanted clothing into the school hall. This is a good fund raiser for the school. It might be a good time to clear out those unwanted Winter clothes and make way for the Summer ones! The last date for drop off is the 26th May. Thanks for your support.
There will be a Parents Association Meeting on next Monday, 29th February at 8.00 p.m. The main item on the Agenda is the School Walk.
All are welcome.
Thanks alot to Mairead Gallagher from Wriggletto who provided a morning full of fun, music and dance last Saturday, 5th February at our Toddler Morning. She had everyone singing, playing instruments and dancing – it was a great workout at the same time!!! Here you can see everyone enjoying themselves:)
Despite the icy conditions, sixth travelled arrived safely to Limerick last Friday and proudly represented their school. They really enjoyed the experience and got to see all the other projects. They learned a number of life skills when doing the project – teamwork, brainstorming, project management and presentation skills to name a few so well done to them all. Here they are at the event:-
It’s been a great year in Gurrane National School and they got into the Christmas Spirit with their school mass last Thursday 17th. The children participated in the mass from start to finish – lighting candles, doing readings, playing instruments, singing and lots more. Fr. Finbarr was visibly impressed. The nativity play was fantastic with guest appearances by Daniel & Majella O’Donnell and Frances Brennan!!! All the children were so well behaved and the parents and families present were all very proud:) Thanks to Fr. Finbarr who makes the occasion very special and to the teachers who made it all happen.
Hope everyone has a relaxing and peaceful Christmas. Hope Santa comes to you all:)
School re-opens on the 6th January 2016.
A picture can tell a thousand stories – just check out the pics below from our Open Morning/Toddler Activity morning which took place on 7th November. Mrs. Tallon gave a great rendition of The Gingerbread story, which was followed by decorating delicious gingerbread men, kindly made by one of the parents, Noreen Healy. It was a lovely relaxed and fun-filled morning and it was fantastic to see some new families visiting our lovely school. Watch out for another one of these mornings which we plan to run again next year!
