Get ready for the Halloween Disco which will take place in the school on Friday, 26th October.
Looking forward to seeing all the different costumes. Remember you don’t have to buy one, just use your imagination and whatever material you can find at home (but not your mothers curtains!).
It’s usually a great night, with plenty of dancing and treats for the kids (and the parents:)).
Please note that books will be available for sale at the school today from 1.30 p.m. to 3 p.m. and from 7 pm to 8 p.m.
This is a good chance for your child to get a new book, while the school will also benefit.
Don’t forget parents can purchase a book for the classrooms if they wish.

Dec – Cinema Trip date and movie to be confirmed and also date for Christmas mass has not been fixed yet.
There will also be a clothes collection in October – further details to follow.
Drama and Basketball – these will be scheduled again for the coming school year given the success of these activities in the previous school year.
It’s the school holidays and I think the parents, children and teachers are looking forward to the break!
School Re-Opens on Monday 31st August.
A new business aimed at tackling obesity has been set up by a teacher in Co. Clare. It is an on-line programme that encourages children to take responsibility for their own health and fitness and allows teachers the flexibility to continue implementing their own P.E. programmes.

Well done to everyone who was involved in getting the Green Flag Award for the school, especially Valerie Collins and Sinead Cuffe and their committee. The children all participated in a recycling project as part of this process and came up with some fantastic masterpieces! Instead of giving prizes it was agreed that because so much work had gone into them, all the children were winners and were rewarded with a sports day with no uniforms or homework. They really enjoyed this which happened last week. There was a surprise visit from an icecream van too:)
Here we see Valerie, Sinead, Cillian and Anna receiving the flag which is now flying in the school along with the health promoting one! We will need more flag poles at the rate we are going:)
The children making their First Holy Communion will be having their First Confession on Wednesday 4th March at 7 p.m. in Knockavilla Church. We wish them well on this special occasion.
This is a great fundraiser for the school and we are giving you plenty of notice to start gathering those unwanted clothes and shoes. Please drop off to the school before 23rd April. Thanks!
